AIESEC in Kazakhstan

AIESEC History

 

Founders of AIESEC started to build the organization between 1946 - 1948, while clear vision and mission of organization were formed only at the International Congress in Stockholm in 1949.

 

The mission of AIESEC (from Fr. Association International des Etudientes en Science Economique et Commercial; now this name is not used, there is only an abbreviation) was "to develop friendly relations among nations and peoples." International Student exchange became main source on achieving this goal. During this time organization defined its status as an international, nongovernmental, nonprofit and nonpolitical organization.

 

The representatives of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, have signed final founing documents. Since 1949, AIESEC has developed rapidly: association to more then 100 member countries . And carried out annually about 5000 international internships.

 

AIESEC in Kazakhstan.

AIESEC is represented in Kazakhstan since 1989, when Local Committee was established in Almaty. At the beginning AIESEC Almaty was part of AIESEC Soviet Union. In 1992 was founded association of AIESEC Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan (AIESEC RUBEK).

 

First international AIESEC interns came to Kazakhstan in the early 1990s. On the same  with the program of international internships, AIESEC in Almaty successfully organized  for several  years various projects on topics of business, management, social issues.

 

In 2006, the union at the national level was transformed into AIESEC Russia and Kazakhstan (AIESEC RuKa). In the same year finally began preparations for separation of AIESEC in Kazakhstan and start its independent work.

 

In February 2007, AIESEC in Kazakhstan was finally established as separate entity from Russia. And since july 2007, 1st National Committee of AIESEC Kazakhstan started its work.

 

Immediately there after, started active work on opening AIESEC in other cities. At autumn 2007 the initiative group of AIESEC in Astana, Ust-Kamenogorsk were established. Since 2008 the initiative group works in Pavlodar, and Karaganda since 2009. At January 2011 two more AIESEC groups were opened in Oral and Taraz.

 

Now there are existing 5 cities where AIESEC is. These are Almaty, Astana, Aktobe, Karaganda, Oral
